Annual Conference Information

The 5th Annual International Congress on Roman Bioarchaeology will take place October 22-23 2026. Check out the schedule and abstract book! Registration will be free for all attendees and will open on September 10, 2026.

Since 2022, ICORB has hosted an annual meeting to bring together an interdisciplinary group of scholars committed to sharing Roman-period research that remains relevant to current global issues. The annual conference seeks to:

  1. Share current research in human osteoarchaeology, zooarchaeology, and archaeobotany at Roman period sites

  2. Provide an inclusive venue that facilitates discussions between students, early career researchers, and established scholars on issues relevant to the field

  3. Promote multivocality and the development of discourse communities within Roman bioarchaeology
